Dealing with Depression

Modern life can be tough, especially in the middle of a global pandemic, where everything is uncertain. Learn how to overcome feelings of despondency and hopelessness, and discover the opportunity for great meaning and direction that human life can offer, even while we are stuck at home!

Everyone is welcome. Classes include guided meditations and Buddhist teachings that are very practical and easily applied to help solve daily problems and experience more peace of mind. There is no need to book or bring anything, you can drop-in any week.

Live stream class fee: $10 per person per class (normally $15 in-person)

Our meditation classes are designed so that you can drop in to any class, any week without the need to pre-register or attend an entire course.

We hold classes in Kingscliff and our Centre in West Burleigh, making it easy for you to drop in to a class anytime for some inner peace, happiness and practical wisdom.

About The Teachings

Modern Buddhism - Tantra

A special opportunity to learn about Buddha’s remarkable Highest Yoga Tantra meditations, in preparation for receiving these empowerments and commentary at the NKT-IKBU International Fall Festival in Brisbane, October 2020. In this class we study a complete section of the book Modern Buddhism.

Everyone is welcome. Classes include two guided meditations and a teaching. Live stream class fee: $10 per person per class (normally $15 in-person) or Centre membership.

Gen Kelsang Ani

Gen Kelsang Ani is Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Brisbane and the Gold Coast and teaches all the main classes and courses at both Centres.

Gen Ani has been studying and practising Modern Kadampa Buddhism with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 15 years. Ani teaches with warmth and compassion, making modern Buddhism accessible and applicable to all.

Gen Tsalden teaches the Monday night class at Helensvale Cultural Centre.

Gerry Bensoussan

Gerry Bensoussan is an experienced Buddhist teacher who has been studying and practising Buddhism for many years. He explains with warmth and humility, how to receive practical benefit from meditation in our daily life. Gerry teaches the Fradgely Hall, Burleigh class on Wednesday evenings.

Mary Caldwell

Mary (Mazzi) Caldwell is a Buddhist teacher from Ganden Centre’s community. With her natural kindness and sincerity she shares Buddhist wisdom from her own experience, encouraging others to transform their lives through meditation. Maz teaches the Wednesday morning class at Robina Community Centre.
