MEDITATION WORKSHOP MACLEAN

Dealing With Anxiety

Take a few hours out of your busy life to reflect, meditate, and learn how to overcome the painful minds of anxiety and worry.

Sunday 14 June | 10am to 1pm

About This Dealing With Anxiety Workshop

Anxiety and worry are increasingly common problems in our busy modern world — but what exactly is anxiety?

Anxiety is an unpleasant feeling that arises within the mind. Therefore, its causes also exist within the mind. The good news is that these causes can be reduced and eventually removed by learning to work skilfully with our mind. We do not need to search outside ourself for peace and freedom from anxiety — we simply need to learn how.

In this workshop, Gen Tsalden will explain how we can gradually abandon the states of mind that contribute to anxiety and cultivate peaceful, positive states of mind in which anxiety cannot easily arise or remain.

What will I learn?

  • The mechanics of anxiety and worry
  • How we can begin to undermine the causes of anxiety
  • How, by understanding our mind and identifying our negative ways of thinking, we can change our whole experience of life
  • How we can become a positive influence on those around us

What to expect

This workshop includes:

  • Practical teachings from Buddhist wisdom
  • Time for quiet reflection
  • Advice on applying meditation in daily life
  • Suitable for both beginners and those with some experience of meditation.
