in depth meditation classes

current book - heart jewel

a deeper study of one of venerable geshe-la's books

Our Monday Night Meditation and Buddhist Study Class on the Gold Coast is designed for those who would like to explore Buddhist teachings more deeply and strengthen their meditation practice.

In these classes we study a book by the founder of the New Kadampa tradition, Buddhist teacher Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche, working through the teachings gradually over several weeks. This allows us to explore profound Buddhist ideas in a clear, practical way and learn how to apply them in everyday life.

Buddhist wisdom offers powerful methods for developing inner peace, compassion, patience, and wisdom. By studying a text in depth, you can gradually develop a deeper understanding of how meditation works and how these teachings can transform your experience of daily life.

Each class includes guided meditation, practical teachings, and time for reflection, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment where everyone can learn at their own pace.

Whether you are new to Buddhism or have attended meditation classes before, this class is a wonderful opportunity to deepen your understanding of Buddhist philosophy and meditation techniques.

current course topic

heart jewel

A special opportunity to study Venerable Geshe-las’ book Heart Jewel. Je Tsongkhapa showed a perfect example of how to build the foundation for the spiritual path, how to progress on that path, and how to complete it.

The first is a popular practice of Relying on the Spiritual Guide in association with Wisdom Buddha Je Tsongkhapa, through which we can receive blessings and gain the realisations of the entire path to enlightenment.

The second is a special method to overcome obstacles and create favorable conditions for success in our spiritual practice by relying upon the Wisdom Dharma Protector Dorje Shugden.

These two special practices lie at the heart of Modern Kadampa Buddhism and are practiced every day by individuals and Kadampa centers around the worid.

In short, Heart Jewel provides an explanation of how to overcome obstacles and difficulties on the spiritual path by developing compassion, wisdom and spiritual strength.
