SPRINGBROOK RAINFOREST RETREAT

A weekend of inner peace...

Escape the stress and busyness of life and enjoy the peace of meditation at a special mountain retreat. This special Springbrook retreat will be guided by our Resident Teacher Gen Ani.

Everybody needs to be good-natured with a good heart, because in this way we can solve our own problems as well as those of others, and we can make our human life meaningful. During this Retreat we will learn Buddha’s special methods to develop our good heart that cherishes others

Suitable for everyone, this retreat provides an excellent introduction to meditation, as well as an opportunity for those already familiar to re-inspire their practice. Enjoy this unique opportunity to experience stillness within in the tranquil setting of a mountainside retreat centre in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

The retreat begins with dinner on Friday night and finishes with lunch on Sunday. There are plenty of opportunities to relax and unwind in the tranquil camp surroundings. The retreat is catered with delicious vegetarian food, and includes simple accommodation. All you need to do is to relax and enjoy yourself. Booking is essential – please book early to ensure a place.

RETREAT LOCATION

Koonjewarre is a camp and retreat centre located on the borders of the World Heritage-listed Springbrook National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland. There are a number of walks nearby where you can take in the natural mountain beauty of the National Park, with lush sub-tropical rainforest, cascading waterfalls, and an abundance of native wildlife. Popular throughout Queensland and Australia as a must-see tourist destination, Springbrook is a perfect place for retreat.

PART-SILENT RETREAT

A retreat is a time when we stop all forms of busyness and extraneous activities and spend time concentrating on a particular meditation practice. By observing silence on retreat, our mind will naturally become more calm and clear, and we will find it easier to clear away the distractions that interfere with our meditation practice. Through developing a clearer and more concentrated mind, we will be able to understand our meditation object more deeply and thereby gain a deeper experience of it.

From after breakfast until the end of the second session each day, we will refrain from verbal and physical interaction with others.

RETREAT FEES AND BOOKING

The retreat costs from $295 (camping) per person including all meals and accommodation. This an onsite-only retreat and booking will be taken for the whole retreat only . Accommodation options include basic single-sex dormitories or camping.
